Quick fix

Update the game. CD Projekt says voiceover could become significantly quieter than the rest of the game's audio after you moved through the pause menu tabs. Hotfix 5.00c, posted on Steam on 1 October 2026, fixed it on PC, and patch 5.01 brought the same fix to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2.

Why it happens

CD Projekt’s notes tie it to the pause menu. After you moved through its tabs, voiceover could become significantly quieter than the rest of the game’s audio.

Fixes

Fix 1: Update to hotfix 5.00c or later (PC)

Hotfix 5.00c fixed the voice drop for every PC version: Xbox Play Anywhere, Steam, Battle.net, GOG and the Epic Games Store. CD Projekt posted it on Steam on 1 October 2026.

Fix 2: Update to patch 5.01 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S)

Patch 5.01 brought the same fix to consoles. CD Projekt posted it on Steam as live on 8 October 2026, and it is out on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Fix 3: Update to patch 5.01 (Switch 2)

Patch 5.01 brings the same fix to Switch 2. Nintendo Life dates the Switch 2 rollout to 19 October 2026, and CD Projekt says the Japanese version follows once it passes certification.

If nothing works

In its notes for the PC hotfix, CD Projekt says it is still investigating the issues players report.
