What is the best Royal Champion equipment in Clash of Clans?
Short answer
Rocket Spear + Electro Boots. It 3-starred 50.0% of 3,600 fresh simulated TH18 attacks, 1.1 points ahead of Electro Boots + Frost Flake, and leads with air armies. With ground armies the top four pairs land within 3 points, so Hog Rider Puppet + Rocket Spear is a fair swap there.
Best pairs
| Pair | All armies | Air armies | Ground armies |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rocket Spear + Electro Boots | 50.0% | 46.2% | 58.1% |
| Electro Boots + Frost Flake | 48.9% | 45.2% | 56.8% |
| Hog Rider Puppet + Electro Boots | 47.7% | 44.0% | 55.7% |
| Hog Rider Puppet + Rocket Spear | 47.1% | 41.8% | 58.7% |
Three-star rates of the 15 test armies with each pair on the Champion, on 240 fresh bases per army (3,600 attacks per pair). Differences under about 2 points are a toss-up. With ground armies the top pairs are within 3 points and Hog Rider Puppet + Rocket Spear edges ahead (58.7% against 58.1%), well inside the noise.
In this test the Champion takes the Duke’s place in the line-up, so these rates compare her pairs with each other, not with other heroes’ pages.
Every item ranked
| Item | Tier | All armies | Air armies | Ground armies | Champion’s damage | Rest of army | Time alive |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Electro Boots | A | +8.0 | +7.9 | +8.2 | +4.9% | −1.4% | +4 s |
| Rocket Spear | B | +6.9 | +6.1 | +8.6 | +4.8% | −1.9% | +7 s |
| Hog Rider Puppet | C | +5.1 | +4.7 | +6.0 | +2.3% | −0.2% | +5 s |
| Frost Flake | C | +4.9 | +4.9 | +5.0 | +1.5% | +0.7% | +5 s |
| Royal Gem | D | +3.8 | +3.0 | +5.4 | +1.6% | −0.4% | +5 s |
| Seeking Shield | D | +3.1 | +2.9 | +3.5 | +2.6% | −1.3% | +1 s |
| Haste Vial | D | +2.8 | +2.2 | +4.1 | +2.5% | −1.4% | −4 s |
Each number compares the item with leaving that slot empty: three-star points with each kind of army, the share of the base’s building HP destroyed by the Champion and by everything else, and the seconds she lasts. With both slots empty the army 3-stars 34% of the time, and the Champion destroys 5% of the base and lasts 37 s, the shortest of any hero.
Because she falls so early, items that keep her fighting longer pay off: Rocket Spear adds 7 s and ranks second. Frost Flake is the one Champion item that helps the rest of the army more than her (+0.7% of the base for everyone else).
Every pair
Electro Boots is in six of the top eight pairs. With ground armies Rocket Spear pairs climb: Hog Rider Puppet + Rocket Spear goes from 41.8% with air armies to 58.7% with ground armies.
What the guides pick
All six tier lists published from August to early October 2026 (AllClash, ClashOS, Webhat, GamsGo, SkyCoach and TrophyCoach) name Electro Boots, and four pair it with Rocket Spear (ClashOS, Webhat, GamsGo, TrophyCoach). SkyCoach pairs it with Haste Vial, and AllClash rates Haste Vial A+. The measurement agrees with the majority, and puts Haste Vial last of her seven items.
Version and platform notes
Max TH18 levels (Electro Boots, Rocket Spear and Frost Flake are Epic items at 27; the rest are Common items at 18), with Supercell’s October 2026 changes in (live since the 20 October maintenance break; none of them touched a Champion item). Everything here applies the same on iOS and Android.
How we counted
- The armies: the 13 army families used most in ranked (TrophyCoach tracker, 30 days to 5 October 2026), weighted by use, plus the best ground and air armies. The line-up is King, Queen, Warden and Champion; the other three keep the kits top players run.
- The sweep: every pair of Champion items, and every item next to an empty slot, on the same 120 generated max TH18 bases with the same dice, 1,800 attacks per pair. Item values are fitted across every pair they appear in.
- The check: the leading pairs played again on 240 fresh bases per army, 3,600 attacks per pair: the Best pairs table.
- The stand-in figures in the FAQ come from the best TH18 air army test: 600 bases, 2 rolls each.
- The full method and every hero’s list: best hero equipment at TH18.
Limits
- Simple ability timing. She uses her ability once, by simple rules; a player who times Seeking Shield or Rocket Spear well gets more from them than these numbers show.
- One line-up. The Champion is tested in the Duke’s place; in a line-up built around her the order of her second item could shift.
- Max level and generated bases only, with the other three heroes fixed on one kit each.
