Where is the Silver Key in Example Game?

Requirements

• The Silver Key quest must be active. Mara gives it at the Millbrook inn at night once The Old Mill is complete.
• A blunt weapon or the Kindle spell to break the cracked wall. Blades bounce off it.
• About 15 minutes. There are no enemies in the cellar, but the water hides two rat swarms until it drains.

Steps

1. Go to the chapel on the north side of Millbrook and climb the bell tower ladder behind the altar.
2. At the top, turn the rusted valve wheel until the bell rings once. That opens the drain in the cellar below.
3. Climb down and take the trapdoor to the left of the altar into the cellar. The water takes about 30 seconds to drain.
4. Clear the two rat swarms that appear as the water goes down.
5. Walk to the back wall, past the broken pews. The cracked section has a faint silver glow while the quest is active.
6. Break the wall with a blunt weapon or cast Kindle on it. The Silver Key sits on a stone shelf behind it.

Tips and common mistakes

• Turn the valve until the bell rings, not just once. One quarter turn does nothing, which makes it look broken.
• Don’t break the wall with Overcharge. Players report the blast can knock the key off the shelf into a gap behind it, where you have to reload to get it back.

Rewards

• The Silver Key, which opens the Sunken Vault under the Millbrook docks.
• 350 experience for finding it, as of patch 1.4.2.
• Inside the vault: the Tidecaller bow and about 600 gold in chests.
