GuidePlanet Zoo 2
How do you raise accreditation in Planet Zoo 2 Franchise mode, and what changed in update 1.0.6?
Short answer
Raise your Franchise Accreditation Tier by getting your zoos to a high Zoo Reputation and your Wildlife Reserves to a high Biodiversity Rating. Career progress doesn't count toward it. Update 1.0.6, posted on Steam on 23 October 2026, lowered the requirements for Accreditation 3, 4 and 5.
Requirements
- Franchise mode. In Franchise, your Accreditation Tier goes up when your zoos reach a high Zoo Reputation and your Wildlife Reserves reach a high Biodiversity Rating.
- Separate progress for each mode. Accreditation is separate for each game mode. Progress you make in Career doesn’t move your Franchise tier.
- The 1.0.6 tier changes. The official Update 1.0.6 notes, posted on Steam on 23 October 2026, list these accreditation changes:
- “Accreditation 3 now only requires a 2 star Wildlife Reserve (was 3)”
- “Accreditation 4 now only requires 3 star Wildlife Reserves (was 4)”
- “Accreditation 5 now requires 1 less Zoo and Wildlife Reserve (was 2 Zoos and 3 Wildlife Reserves)”
The same notes say the Zoo and Wildlife Reserve requirements for tier unlocks were lowered “to make for a smoother progression.” Earlier, on 14 October 2026, the team’s Steam post said it was investigating player feedback on accreditation rating requirements.
Steps
- Play in Franchise mode. Medals you earn in Career won’t raise your Franchise tier.
- Raise the Zoo Reputation of your zoos.
- Raise the Biodiversity Rating of your Wildlife Reserves.
- As you aim for Accreditation 3, 4 and 5, compare your zoos and Wildlife Reserves with the 1.0.6 requirements quoted above.
- To see which animals each tier unlocks, try the Zoopedia: GameRant says it shows this after your first animal is placed in Franchise mode.
Tips and common mistakes
- Don’t count on Career medals. In Career mode, medals from scenario zoos and Wildlife Reserves raise your Accreditation Tier. That progress stays in Career and doesn’t advance your Franchise tier.
- Check the date on tier lists. The requirement changes above come from the 1.0.6 notes, posted on 23 October 2026, so tier lists written before then predate them.
- All platforms. The 1.0.6 notes give 11:00 BST on 23 October 2026 as the hotfix’s arrival time on all platforms.
Rewards
- Animals. Animals unlock by Accreditation Tier, so a higher tier can open up more species.
- A rebalanced animal list. The 1.0.6 notes say the team ran a balancing pass on animal accreditation tier requirements. It targeted animals whose unlock level didn’t fit how common they are or how easy they are to keep. Animal tier lists from before 1.0.6 may not match the rebalanced tiers.
